Must've been pretty bad seeing how bad the carnage is, glad you're ok though.

Thanks, the soreness seems to have fully set in today. Overall Im happy it wasnt any worst. I've decided I'm not gonna replace the plastic just yet cause I can't find any good deals right now. Surprisingly I've straighted out most of the plastic with a heat gun and rivited the front fender where the only crack is. The front rack isn't really savagable so Im not sure what Im going to do about that though. Ive tried to straighten out the bumper but regardless of what I do its still tweeked. I'm pretty OCD about my toys so it has to look good. I'm going to attempt to fab up a bumper tomorrow so we'll see how that goes. I'll post some more pics up tomorrow. I'm amazed at the toughness of these machines. It took a real beating and other than the cosmetics everything still seems to be perfect. I'll eventually replace the plastic but for now it will have to wait. I recently bought a new pistol and target rifle/optics so I need to tone down the spending for a while. Ive been wanting to make a better brush guard for a while, just seems like everytime I have the time I go riding instead. Guess this is a good motivator. I want to get it ready again asap cuz it sucks not being able to hit the trails. I usually ride 3 or 4 times a week even if its not a big trip. I live in a rural area and all my friends and family's houses are connected by trails. I drive my ATV around locally more than my car.

Just thought I'd give an update. It's been a week tomorrow and I've managed to spend a few hours a day working on the Rubi. I think she looks pretty good all considering.

I just riveted the plastic back together where its broken. I just used sheet metal contoured to the inside of the fender. I just used a heatgun to straighten all the bent plastic. Once heated up it went back into shape.

I just made a temporary rack to bolt my basket onto and provide structure to the bumper. I eventually intend to replace the front plastic, rack, and fabricate a better bumper but this will have to do for now.

So now that the Rubicon is back together I just wish the bruises would go away. I also don't know if I should go back and conquer that hill again. I don't like it when I get bested.

as far as the hill make take the box off the back just in case you get in trouble and try it alone.......but I think the best advice anybody could give you is to follow your Gut!

Yeah the bumper was the hardest part to fix. It completely collapsed the tube and I wasnt able to bend it back. I just cut it up into four pieces and welded it back together where I thought it should go.

As far as the box, I love it and I hate it. Its great for carrying stuff and my wife likes it much better than sitting on the rack, but it does block a vital mode of escape. Ive been thinking about coming up with a type of quick release kind of similiar to what Arctic Cat has but Im not sure yet.

I can understand that the 2nd audio system I built from scratch, was not all that hard it was more of me being picky, I did not want to bolt on the brackets solid like I did, but until I can get back on my feet health wise and think with a clear head one thing is for sure! ....they are not going to fall off!

Their OK, almost every person we rode with last weekend had nothing but good things to say about them, all 25 ATV's & SXS's even had a few wanted to ride behind me & Lisa so they could listen to the music.

.......I still am not happy with them, I would like to be able built a Quick release like you said, just in case I NEED the rack, of course the way they are now their only 4 bolts to pull them off, but I would be happier keeping the Low profile to be able to use the Pod Light & a quick release!

As I said I'm fussy about things, Onyx (my Daughter) calls me a protectionist & I tell her to HUSH & mind her own business..hehehe

.....but man you did a Great job on that front end, I'm amazed it really looks good!

respects

Dang dude that's some hella good work! Compared to what you FIRST posted, this quad looks great. You're just being super OCD cuz it's your baby and you know where to look for all the blemishes. Great job. Heal up and keep riding.....and you're lucky to have local trails to ride everyday.

Glide,
I've been wanting to put my skills towards a good audio box, I've just been too busy to do so. I worked in car audio installations for 5 years while paying my way through college. I have some experience fabricating custom fiberglass so I think Im going to go that route. I have tons of equipment and supplies I've accumulated over the years, I just need to put them into action. I don't think I've seen your latest creation. I remember your first audio box. Is there a link to a thread where I can check it out. I like to build off other peoples creativity.

its nothing special, I used 2-4" PVC end caps from the local hardware store, and a Clear Geocaching box from wally World!

the only audio hardware I changed was the 4" Marine speakers, and as far as the wires we really didn't have anything strapped down ...her winch control was laying on the front, the only thing that really was exposed were the wires for the 2 speakers and we zippy tied them under the rack, WELL out of the way, and the other 2 wires is 12V power cable and the MP3 jack!

all in all were talking around $50 and as I said its LOW profile, and we did not want a audio tube because it would block the middle Pod Light.......it works, sounds great and fulfills our needs, what else could a rider ask for!

Glide

also the cheap amp only draws 6amps, so thats well under the 10amp fuse load.
