Default 2004 Front Brakes

Hello, I'm about to take apart the front brakes on my 04' Rubicon. My question is my Hydraulic front lever has nothing, it goes all the way to the grip. I've bled it several times and am confident theres no air at this point. I just purchased this machine and was told that new shoes were just installed, which I'm doubting now , and that it was air in the line. So I tried adjusting the front adjusters and noticed that one would only turn 2-3 clicks either way and all the others seemed to move fine. Im going to pull it apart to check the cylinder but if I need to change one am I supposed to change all? Also, when I take this apart I've read that I need to replace the 4 bolts? Can I just Loctite these or is there some other reason to replace? Finally is it also a good Idea to replace the water/dust seal or is that also only if its bad or damaged. I appreciate any help before I do this. Also if I should know anything else that may help please let me know.

Thanks,

Ron

the master cylinder are also known for having to be rebuilt. will the brakes pump up at all or is there nothing ever there? as for the bolts I just reloctite mine and have had no problems. the seals i would replace only if i find a nick, cuts or appear to have leaks. Also pack the front bearing hub with grease when you go back together. I know the bearing are sealed but the grease will keep water out of the hub area. that water sitting in there will just make the bearings go that much faster.

Thanks for the info, I'll be sure to pack the grease (makes sense). As for the Master Cyl/brake lever, it will pump up and hold, takes about 4 pumps to get about 1/2 - 3/4 full lever which is about where it shoudl be on the first pull. Anyway because its been raining on and off here I decided to wait until the w/e to do this, so any additional advice is greatly appreciated.

check the front bearings. the play that they get when they go bad allows the drum to push the wheel cylinders back. causing you to have to pump up the brakes to get any. bearing are known fro going bad. worse when you have changed to nonn stock tires as most of us has done.

I'l' take a look, but tires are still from when new and machine has 215 miles on it. Can the bearings be bad so quickly? When I had the front end raised up when installing the 424 kit I didn't notice any play in either tire. Thanks for the help.
