3 Way diode function?

What is the function of the 2 way diode that is in the fuse box of the rancher 350?..

I would have to look in the manual but I think it has to do with the starting system. Not positive on that since I have never had one go bad.

i think on the foreman FE or FM it has to do with the 4 wheel drive selector not sure about the ranchers

toodeep if you look it up let us know i couldn't find anything in my manual about it other then how to test it

It works with the neutral signal in the system. Light, solenoid, switch and cdi. That's on the Rancher.
