So I got a little over zealous yesterday going up a hill and turner my rancher over on its lid. I was unhurt but I feel terrible now because i have bent my handlebars down and the black cover is broken as well. I was able to get it home and was able to just loosen up the handlebars and push them back up. Luckily they did not bend on 1 end, just pushed down. Now on the cover, I have no way to know how to get the cover off. There seems to be 2 tabs broken on the meter ears and the top of the cover is loose, but the bottom is pushed down into the gas tank cover. I cant figure out where the bottom attaches to the meter to remove it. Also am I screwed with tabs broken off the meter? I don't have a problem buying a new cover or meter, but i don't want to reset all my mileage or hours. I feel horrible, I just bought the rancher used, but it was my first and it was in like new shape. Now I trashed it.

Yea sorry about that. It is a 07 with 260 miles on it. Sorry about the mud, I haven't cleaned it up yet because I've been worried about what I am going to have to do. My biggest fear is having to replace the meter. Cost is not an issue, I just want to keep all the stats. Call me weird, most people would love for it to show 0.00 miles again.

well if you have to replace the meter it will read 000.
i think the best way to see what damage you have is to just start taking it apart . 1 good thing about this is you are alright ! here look at this parts link ...it may help in the deconstruction ...lol Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories Cycle Parts Warehouse

JB Weld works pretty good, can make anything out of it, not to mention there is some pretty good epoxies out there, just fix it,lol.

Yeah I think it is, just pry the emblem off with a screw driver.

Yea H22ate, thats the spot I'm in. I may look into the plastic epoxy route. Im assuming i would just eppoxy some kind of tab that I could screw through to the new cover. I would rather do that than reset my stats. Plus it would save me $100. I dont have any experience with that stuff though.

So i got everything apart and I swear I dont see anything bent! But the meter is lower than it should be, so much that it is hitting the gas tank. I beginning to believe i need to order a whole new stay, cover, meter, a lower stay and replace everything. Anyone one of a parts dealer that accepts returns if what I order is not bent and I want to return what I ordered?
