Default Bent Frame

Well my brother and his kids managed to have a small accident and they ended up hitting a tree. They are all ok, and I think it was my neice driving it at the time. They are all fine, but they decided not to tell me about it. So last time we went riding I let my brother ride my foreman and I rode the rancher for a bit just for a change up. I noticed it pulling right pretty good and asked him about it. He said yeah, we hit a tree last week. Of course my brother doesn't do any maintenance, so my dad and I took a look at it. The right front tire has a slight angle where the top of the tire leans out. We thought it was a tie rod or something but wasn't sure. Took it to a local shade tree mechanic and he said the frame was bent after checking it out.
The only problem is the slight pull to the right, and he said it'd be ok to ride still. Just said we'd wear the front tire out quicker. My brother doesn't really care, as I said he doesn't care about maintence. As long as it runs he's fine. But should there be anything to worry about, or do we just now a have bent frame rancher?

Guys at a local tire store said they could heat the frame up with a torch and straighten out the bend. Anybody had any luck with that?

The bend is right where the frame bolts to the front right.

i'd try heating it up 1st, if it bends again or doesn't feel right then buy a new frame. unless money is no object then just buy a frame. lol

We gotta frame machine here at tha shop if ya wanna runner on down lol. You culd heat it or if you have a way to bind it down in place you culd run a come along to a pole or tree an pull it that way if you are worried abt meltin somethin. it shuldnt be hard at all to fix.

most body shops will have a frame rack. might be worth looking into if you dont want to attempt it yourself...

Thanks guys, I think we are going to give it a shot in a few weeks. Just hope we don't make it worse, it's still rideable now.

I have an 09 500FM that my sister and her buddy hit a tree with and it has the same thing; frame looks like it's slightly tweaked.

It's drivable and looks ok, but the front wheels are canted to one side a bit, so I'd like to get it back straight. Rides fine, and I've had it up to 55 and it steers straight etc....everything works. Just bugs me when I look at it from the front. I've thought about taking it to my shadetree bodyman and seeing if he could twist the front back a bit. Just leery of making it worse.

Let me know how yours goes.

Probably easier to go back to the same tree and hit it on the other side...even it out...lol
