This is from HighLifter gear reduction.
TRD GEAR REDUCTION HONDA 420 RANCHER SRA & IRS 07-10 & HONDA 500 FOREMAN (05-12)

What all is the same on them the 500 and the 420 that this will work on both? just the transmission?

honda has always been good for using the same parts for different bikes and ATVs . its cheeper for them in the end and better for the people that work on them . thats how i got a 14%gear reduction for my forem450 for $50 used from toodeep (trx 300 clutck basket and gear )

I work at a Chevy dealer and they do the same thing on some parts. I might not remember this correct but does honda make a gear reduction for alot cheaper than HIGH LIFTER does?

the only one i can think of is for the 680 rincon it comes out of the big red sxs
there are no stock gears that fit the forem 500 or the 420 for a gear reduction ......it sucks but your gona pay if you want the gear reduction

Rich, which would be a good gear reduction for my 400? It turns the outlaws in 1st but in 2nd it just bogs in deep mud.

get the 14% that i have in my 450 (trx 300 4x2 or 4x4 all years )
look on e-bay for the clutch basket and gear (under the cyntrifical clutch )
should be able to pick it up for $80 to $100 off e-bay
or thay sell the whole gear reduction together for $175
best mod i have ever done
