A stock 420 (without gear reduction, etc) 27/28 would be the biggest tire I would go. If riding thick mud 26/27 would be enough strain on the machine.

i've talked with ppl that put a set of 29.5" on without a lift. then when they did put there lift on they had to trim there fenders a bit. i'd say you could fit a 28" tire with a lift without having to trim anything
