First off, Merry Christmas!

Today I got a 2,000lb Badland Winch (ATV/Utility Winch). Yes im cheap!

Here is a link to the winch - 2000 lb. Electric ATV/UTV Winch with Automatic Load-Holding Brake

The main question is..will this winch fit on my Honda Rancher 420?

I plan on installing it next week along with getting my rancher fixed up. Also, do I need to buy a winch mount? If so, which one? (I'll be using motosport.com or going to a local honda dealer)

I just want to make sure that this will fit on my rancher and need to know what mount to get, and If I ever get 25" or 26" tires will they rub against winch?
I believe this is the measurement of the winch - Overall dimensions: 11.25'' L x 3.88'' W x 4.25'' H (286mm x 99mm x 108mm)

I have no rub issues with 25x10" tires and a Warn 25XT.

Not sure what mount that winch will use.

if you have a tractor suply near you look at there winches for 20 bucks more ...from what i hear there 10x better then that harbor fraight thing (you would be better off with a comealong ) and thay sell a universial mounting plate .

I have one near me but already bought a winch so Ill just keep the one I have. I looked on the website showing what they have in my area and there was a few winches but they looked big I didnt think it was going to fit. The reason i posted this thread question was because from what people tell me, honda ranchers are a bit complicated with winches..

Okay, I didnt see that one.. I would try to get that, but ive already got the badland winch plus the one i have is smaller than the one at tractor supply. BTW, rich i like your idea for the PVC pipe storage! Im goin to try that out on monday or tuesday.

i have the Champion 3000lb winch from tractor supply on my rancher with no rub issues and i run 26" tires. i even had 27"s on it with out rubbing the winch. the Champion one is alot better than the badland winch and comes with alot more stuff.

Ok, im convinced to get it now. If i find the receipt then im going to return the badland winch then go buy the Champion from tractor supply. I dont mind doing that for $20 more and knowing it will fit! Does the winch work good for you and has it helped alot?
