Default Rear axle problem!

I just got this 06 rancher 350 and the guy before stripped the threads on the axle shaft so he welded the nut to the axle and hub. Can I take apart the other side an slide the axle out that side and is there any clips holding the axle in place I'll need to take off to do that? Also what size socket do I need for that nut bc I don't have it in my tool box and gonna have to go pick one up. Thanks for any input.

So I can't just take everything off the one end that's not welded up and slide the axle out through the other side??? I didn't think it mattered what side it came out of, just didn't know if there is any type of clips in there that I would have to take off before sliding it out?

The brake side hub is welded on? If so your going to have to replace the axle (30mm on those nuts BTW).

The brake side nut is welded to the axle shaft and hub I can grind othe weld off and save the hub but the threads are stripped on the axle. I'm trying to just get it on the trails right now so if I can slide the axle out with everything still on that one side change the brakes for now so I can ride then find another axle and stuff later? Would that work will the axle slide out the brake drum side? I'll try and get pics posted later. But I don't see it being any problem to do that bc I've done it will sport quads but this is my first 4x4 utility and wasn't sure if I'm trying some that isn't possible and just going to frustrate myself? lol!

Ps thanks todeep.

Are your brakes shot? If you can get the hub off then replacing the shoes will be easy, then just weld your hub back on for the time being.

Yea brakes are done it doesn't have any pedal. If there are no clips or anything holding the axle in what's it matter on which side it comes out? I might be able to grind the welds off but if I do that I'd rather go ahead and replace so I don't have to go back through the trouble again later.
