Default 400FA front drive shaft boot

Hey ya'll

I've resurrected a new to me 2005 auto rancher from three years of inactivity.

All it's issues are rectified with the exception of the forward drive shaft boot. Its unseated from the propeller shaft joint at the engine end. It isn't torn.

I would love to reseat this without tearing the rubber and there aint a whole lot of room to work in there.

I'm wondering if one of you might have been there/done that and would care to share a McGyver type no-disasembly-required tip or two with me.

Thanks in advance

Edit: Of course, I did the search thing before posting this.

welcome to the forum !
the boots on the drive shafts are tough man but i think your best bet is to put it on its rear rack and try getting it from the bottom

Thanks,

The shaft is seated and functioning fine.

The boot that covers the propeller shaft to the engine junction is not seated but is whole. It just needs re seating and I'm afraid of tearing it as it is a very snug fit in a space with little access. I'm tempted to use a lever (screwdriver) to pry it up onto the lip. Afraid of tearing though.

I'll attempt to get a pic but its an awkward area to shoot.

i'd try like rich450es said and tip it up on its back rack and pull the skid plate so you can access it from the bottom.

its gonna take some elbow grease to get it back in its proper spot

I had it in that position to install the plow mount. I was so focused on that task I did not see the boot loose till I was installing the wheels with new tires.

I wont be able to get it on the rear rack till I have extra muscle at Christmas and just hate to leave anything undone that long.

BTW, thanks for the quick reply
