Welcome.. I'm going to say a 50-55 inch plow should be about perfect (depending on factors). I'm going to use my 60 inch on my 420 this year but I'm guessing at times it's going to be too much for it. Not for the power of the machine but the weight of it trying to push that much in front of it. For light snows it's going to be perfect though.
I use a Moose plow and had good luck with them. I run a couple different winches that I have had good luck with, Warn and Viper (Max series). |

welcome to the fourm. I plow with a 60in cycle country plow thats been beefed up. It does good on the light stuff and when I get heavy wet snow It's a struggle. The ranchers are light and get spun around just nature of the beast with any atv. I can get the tires to spin in 3rd gear no problem. I run a promark winch. People have reasently been talking about a plow strap attachment for the plows that work slick. No more braking cable. I'd like to know more about them and how to instaul one!

Silverbullet,
I use a CycleCountry plow and have had excellent luck with it. They now make a new front mount which is very desirable. Also, DO use synthetic rope on your winch as it will not fray and bind as wire rope does. Last, get some High Lifter springs for the front of your Rancher so the front end does not dip down (so much) when you are lifting the plow blade. Tires are also important as you want the best traction possible while plowing. (The Maxxis BigHorn are excellent in snow as well as in just about any other terrian). Good luck sir. |
