yea i found a head for it like many months ago on ebay. but i didnt think i needed it so i over looked it. come to find out i need a head and they are harder to find then a needle in a hay stack

its still being wrenched on. just havent been posting updates. it had to have a valve job. i hope i can get it back soon and get some seat time on it.

Wow!, Just finished reading all 5 pages, and this has been a very interesting thread and at about page 2 I was ready to start giving you ideas and then I realized how old the thread was!lol
Onebad, How much loot do you have wrapped up into this project now?
Im just curious because I bought my 450 with a partsbike for 1000 bux and after selling a few parts had 700 into my initial investment.
I now have over 2500 into it but just like you I ran into roadblock after roadblock and fix after fix, but I just kept throwing money at it!lol
I mean once your into it for a few bux, you just dont wanna stop!lol

im in it about 1000 bucks now including cost of the rancher itself. its been a money pit tho.

Try owning a boat one, haha I still havent messed with my rancher I picked up for 300, I think the shift fork is messed up in the rear, I cleaned the carb got it running but it wouldnt shift into gear and when I removed the cable linkage in the back and wrenched on it it seemed like it wanted to move.. hopefully its just the shift fork... but its the girls bike and she doesnt like the cold weather so I can wait a few more months !!!

i think i might have a shift fork if your talking about the one thats on the rear case cover that goes between the gears. ill look and see. but if u ever decide to part it let me know. def interested. mines been a night mare and i figure i could take 2 quads and make one lol
