Pics - Rancher 420's: The Difference between Primary and Secondary Gear Reductions
I have been doing a little research on gear reductions and thought I'd share these pics, they helped me so hopefully they can clear up some questions other people may have about gear reductions: a primary gear reduction involves replacing your primary drive gear and clutch basket... a secondary gear reduction replaces your secondary gears. For those looking for GR options other than Highlifter, Xtremerancher offers both types of GR's. Primary is 35%, Secondary is 15%.

I've got a 2009 Honda 420 IRS. With 27" silverbacks and am looking into doing a gear reduction. Will the gears from an sra do the job? Will they fit? The cost is low but I'm looking for some info about the job.

xtreamerancher can build you eather of thes kits . stock honda parts from a AT will not give you the reduction your looking for . pm robert carter he is having a GR instaled right now from james (xtreamrancher ) he can give you a little help .
or buy the highlifter kit and install it yourself
