I personally would be weary of purchasing a rancher that needed a new piston and rings. A lot of people on this forum have had reoccurring problems after an improper top end rebuild. If its not done right it will not last. They can also run good for the first 10-20 hours before the problem reveals itself. Thats just my opinion, I may be overly cautious. I have over 3000 miles on my 05 Rubicon and its still completely smoke free on the original rings.

We bored our jug and put new pistons and rings in it without much problem its not really a big deal to do it again if ya have a problem, just have to find a shop that can take care of the jug for ya, it it wasnt that expensive as far as parts

Welcome to the forum Valta. What type of riding will you be using this for? Is this the 350 Rancher or the 400? If the overhaul was done correctly it will last but if it wasn't you could run into problems. Example is if it was sunk in muddy water and the bottom end was not cleaned then the overhaul will not last.
