I have used both the AMSOIL AFF 0W-40 and the MCT 10W-30 in my Ranchers and Rincon and I use Wix oil filters.

The 420 uses the Wix 24944

Honda oil is nothing special although they sure would like you to think it is so they can make more money. Ask yourself this, how many oil refineries does Honda own? 0, they contract with oil companies to package oil for them in their bottles and then the charge high prices for average oil. Use it if you want but its really no better than any other brand of 4-stroke oil on the market and likely sub-standard to many premium brands.
