The 420AT has a manual (gear to gear) transmission but it is an auto shift. The 400AT has the hydrostatic type transmission and IMO was gear too high and needed a low range. Back to the newer 420AT it uses technology off of the Rincon to do the shifting and so far has been pretty trouble free. I wouldn't be scared to get a 420AT but if your planning on bigger tires (27+) plan on a gear reduction for that also (they are gear higher than the manual shift).

TooDeep let me know where you get a gear reduction at, I'm about to get this thing going, figured the rubi out the other day ....Actually I cant take credit I was helpin father in law shoe horses....but im about ready to tackle this clutch and figure i'd get the gear reduction with the clutch done at once

I have similar problems in auto mode it feels like it's in too high of a gear. If I stop, I can hear it shifting back down or something. then i can drive off again. If I am on a hill or incline, it won't move. I heard it may not be angle sensor but not getting anywhere.
