06 rancher no headlights

Hi all,
i have a 2006 rancher es.I have no headlights or tail lights and it wont crank over with the switch.I can use the recoil to start it and everything else works fine. i was thinking maybe something in the switch or switch wiring.Any ideas??????

O By the way, the display works fine with the key on ,engine off....

check the voltage on the battery

Fuses are all good,(unless there is another fuse block other than the one undrer the seat).and the batt is good.Like i said , the display lights up fine and even the brake lights work with tyhe key on and without the engine running

GOT the SAME EXACT problem as u on my 06 rancher. i believe its the switch near the reverse button. has 2 wires on it may be called kill switch. good luck

o6 rancher did you find out the problem? I put a working kill switch from a buddys rancher on mine and no luck. Check battery and took apart es/starter button switch assembly looking for corrosion, dirt ect. and it looked fine. I'm at a loss and to make matters worse one in 100 attempts it will fire off with button but 99% of the time have to use recoil. let me know if you or others have any idea

Everything on yours working normal except the starter button?

toodeep, everything works except starter button and light switch and that rare time it DOES fire off with starter button (I always try before recoil start) the lights will work too!
