I have a 2003 Honda Rancher 350 and it is carburated but i have been havin trouble with it runnin like it makes sounds and acts up like loss of power one second and revvin like normal the next and it cut off and wouldnt start for a while the other day(the last time i rode it) i think the best chocie is to clean the carb. and see how it runs then but how would i go about cleaning it and taking it apart and whatnot? Any help or suggestions is appreciated thanks in advance

When it acts up will it run right and rev better with the choke on? Also is there any chance some water got into it? If so maybe top off your tank with some 91 or 93 octane and throw in some dry gas. I Just had a similar problem yesterday but i KNOW mine was water, and I got her back to normal today by doing that.

its like when im goin through trails its actin up, at the top off a gear when im at a steady pace, and the choke is actin up like when i turn the choke off its actin like its on and when i turn it on it acts like its off, and when i turn it on i immediately have to gag it while its in nuetrel or it will want to cut off but i have to shift that second otherwise it will rev to high and i cant shift and yes it has been in water and some soft salty mud up to its tailpipe so its got alot of problems but i seen another thread with almost the same problems so i think that maybe takin the carb out and cleanin the jets will help alot

First things first, check to see if you have an inline filter. If so change it first, and it never hurst to pull the carb and clean it good. If you have never been inside of a carb do yourself a favor and take digital pictures as you are taking it apart so you know where everything goes back.

I agree it sounds like Water in the fuel system.....

but a cracked spark plug can mess with your head and act up when IT wants to also......just a thought.
