have a 2001 rancher 350 2x4,,,my question is ,,does the dash pod have to be on the bike for it to fire,, the pod is busted no readouts at all, no nuetral light or reverse light is working either,, it shifts fine and goes into gear,,and when it is in gear it will not turn over till you shift it back to nuetral,, so i think the nuetral switch is fine,,, does the pod have to working for the bike to fire,,,,

As long as the CDI/ICM is getting the signal to say it's in neutral it will fire.

racked my brain all day,, finally found that i was the coil,, and it will fire with the dash pod unhooked
