I have an 05 rancher that is automatic and manual. that my step father turned over this weekend and now it will only go in reverse when i put t in drive it makes a sound like it is spinning inside and not wanting to catch sort of like the wench on a boat trailer when it is flipped in the release position. but it will go in reverse, hopefully someone has had the same problem and can possibly help. when it was turned over it was on its side and not end over end. thanks for your help in advance.

Sounds like the shift lever got hit and in return bent the shift fork in the sub transmission. The rear cover would have to be removed to inspect that. By the left foot peg area is the shift cable and the adjustment for it, you might get lucky and it's just out of adjustment. |
