Hello, I've got an '05 350Es and it's making a ridiculous clanking noise. I know I bought someone elses problem but hey I like to tinker with it. Here's the deal. It used to smoke constantly and last weekend I took the piston out and put new rings on there along with new gaskets and such. The thing runs strong and has quit smoking. The problem still is the noise. It sounds like the valves but I know it's not. ****, I've been adjusting valves on cars for 10yrs. In any case, I've been told that the crank and wristpin are the issue. I've managed to find a replacement rod for $100 by Vesrah. Has anyone installed one of these replacement connecting rods before?

Also, I'm looking for a bone stock muffler section so if someone out there has replaced theirs with an aftermarket slip-on and has it laying around...shoot me a message.

Thanks for any information,
Jose

Possibly could be the timing chain is stretched and is slapping. It's located towards the rear of the motor on the Rancher.
