hello, im new as you can see but Its time for me to rebuild the top end of my 350 rancher. Ive found a kit on ebay that for about $180-$190 I get the whole kit, piston head, rings gaskets all that good stuff. Also I send them my cylinder and they will machine it and match the piston to it then send it back with all the stuff in the kit.

Just wanting to find out if this is the cheapest route to go or if you guys know some sites I can get the kits for cheaper. Not totally sure the cylinder needs alot of machine work or not, havent tore it apart yet but as much oil as it burns I think Ive broken a ring or two so Im sure its damaged pretty good.

thanks for the help.

If that price covers boring the cylinder, it's pretty good. I just paid $150 for a piston and ring set along with $50 to bore the cylinder. You should get your valves done while you are in there.

Thanks. I think I might be able to get it cheaper just getting a gasket kit and piston kit. I dunno if the cylinder needs machined yet or not. Though Im sure it does as much oil as it was burning. Guess I just need to tear it down and see.
