I have an 2008 420 rancher 4x4 es. When you first start it and take off, it will shift from n-1and 1-2. but going from 2-3 or 3-4 it doesnt want to shift when i press the button. you have to press it a couple of times before it finally shifts. Its FI so it cant be warming up issues...but when it warms up, it shifts fine. Any idea what it is?

I am not sure what it is but my 09 does it also. I sometimes have to speed up/slow down to shift from 1-2. After that first shift it is fine for the rest of the ride. Hopefully someone can chime it.

i have the same problem. i just let the bike warm up first and it doesnt do it. the fluid could be causing the issue if it sits for awhile and all the fluid goes to the lowest spot and needs to be cycled through all the parts.... its just an idea
