I removed the bolt holding the lever on....cut the end off an old hinge (triangle shape) and bolted it on so the hinge held the reverse button down at all times. If needed you could push the hinge aside and the button pops up. Works very well.

I end up shorting the cable by adjudting it like what Helmut did and it worked great.

This works also ,no mods or screwing with anything and can be done in seconds ,install and take out

all i did is push the button down and put it in reverse then pull the boot back and put a small piece of rubber gas line over the cable and it keeps the cable tight so when u shift down it goes from 1 to n to reverse without doing a thing

If you adjust the cable, watch out that no one who doesn't know the mod is done puts the button down for reverse of its possible to stretch or brake your cable. Once the cable is adjusted for the mod place a zip tie under the red button to prevent this from happening
