Doesn't sound real easy. Sounds more like a machine shop job to me. I can weld but I don't think I would want to tackle cutting the shaft Cost suddenly goes from $330 to $600 very quick.

My ECM got fried somehow while I was doing some other stuff to it. I got the new ECM in today, and will be installing it tomorrow. If the rain holds off then I'll be riding on Sunday so I'll let y'all know.

I got a chance to try out the Wide Open 424 today on some steep, muddy and rutted out power line trails behind my house. It worked great! Switched it in and out of 4wd many times without a problem, and rode a lot of the trail in 2wd. These trails were rough so I have no doubt that the Wide Open is on par with the build quality of the Warn 424. I'll be testing it more tomorrow at a local ATV park called The Ridge.

I ordered my wide open thursday and it was on my front porch Monday. Very fast shipping and good transaction.

Unfortunately, while my package was sitting on the porch we had a heavy downpour and my front porch flooded so the package was sitting in 2" of water when I got to it. The outer box was soaked so i took the stuff out. Some of the instructions were wet and the box for parts was wet. I don't think it will affect the unit, so everything should be fine. It was just kinda crazy to hold the box up in the air and have water pouring off.
