You dont have to. Warn is a quality winch, though a little pricey. It will last you if you decide to make that purchase. Put it this way, Once I need to replace mine, I will go with a Warn..

I got a cabelas mount plate with along with my cabelas(superwinch 300lb).... The cabelas mount did not work! I ended up taking it back and buying a moose one instead...... But if your a fan of cabelas buy their brand winch...... Its made by superwinch which has a lifetime warranty PLUS just like their fishing poles.... if you break it you dont even need the superwinch warranty, just take it back to cabelas and they will give you a new one on the spot. Thats why I went with it over the warn, I have a cabelas about 45 minutes away and driving there sure beats waiting several weeks for a new one..... thats if the company will even warranty it. "user neglect" comes up alot with these things but cabelas doesnt care!

Exclamation Cheap Winch

Just bought a Harbor Freight Winch, Model 92860. This is rated at 2000lb.
The winch was on sale for 39.99 and I had a 20% off coupon, so the took it down to around 33 bucks. They also off er extended warranty which you can purchase for 1 year or 2 years. I purchased the 2 year, which was $8.99. The warranty covers everything, they even told me if the cable broke bring it back and they would replace it with a brand new winch. I don't know how you can beat this deal ???? The winch I had on my quad was a Champion 3000lb, the harbor freight model was an exact replacemnet, bolt holes and all. I used it some and it works great !!!!

h22 I was just looking at the cabelas winches. They have a 2000# superwinch listed but I don't see the 3k#.
They have a 2500# trail tamer that looks exactly the same as the warn rt25. The cabelas one says its even made by warn. Its a lot cheaper than a warn too.

The military uses Milemarker.... #2500 is more than enough. You can get #2500 Warn on RockyMountain ATV for cheap money.

Picked up the Cabelas/Warn 2500# last night. Going to look at making a mount tomorrow.
Anybody have any pics of what an 05 rubicon winch mount should look like?
