How much did they run ya. It will be a custom install. Someone will pipe up to let you know which switchable hot wire you should use. The mounting of the light and the switch placement will be up to you to figure out, but thats half the fun. Remember the switch that comes with it might not be waterproof. You may have to upgrade it. Post some pics on the project.

Wanna tie them in with your existing lights? They will be switched with the OEM switch that way.
Using a test light, find the hot wire coming out of the back of the existing lights. There should be 3 wires. 1 is a hot. 1 is a ground. Last will be hi-low. Tie into the hot, using water proof butt connectors, then tie into the ground wire. Zip tie the wires from the new lights up and away from suspension stuff and your done. OH YEAH, disconnect the battery BEFORE you begin.. Good luck.

I would wire them up like 2003 foreman es suggested, but I would use a relay so it doesn't draw the power through the handlebar light switch. You can still you the high beam wire that goes to the stock headlights to switch the relay. That way when the handlebar switch is on low, the stock low beams will work and when the handlebar switch is on high, the Hella lights will come on along with the stock high beams. I don't know what the stator output is for the 500 Foreman, but make sure it's enough to burn the lights or it will slowly drain your battery and it will also be hard on the stator.

+1 on the relay. You don't want to overdraw the light circuit. Make sure to fuse your power connection closest to the battery in case of a short.

it was about $75 after tax. it came with all the wiring, switch, and relay. i dont wanna tie it into the factory switch, just wanna use the aux swith that it comes with so that if i dont need them or wanna use em they wont come on. if thats the case could i just use the hot/ground from lights to battery with the relay and switch? theres i think 8 different wires in the kit, maybe more

I'm not sure why there is 8 wires, but you can run off the battery. As Helmut stated, the stator out put should handle the draw, But test the draw with a volt meter before installation to make sure. I went with H.I.D.s just for that reason. 55 watts of power at 35 watt draw. The factory lights draw 90 watts on my bike.

The stator is the part that generates power for your charging system. It's similar to an automobile alternator, except it generates AC power and the AC power is then rectified to DC power and regulated to the proper voltage by your regulator/rectifier.

Maximum watts that you can use is determined by the stator output. I don't have the service manual for the 500 Foreman, so I don't know the stator output.

If your bulbs are factory, they draw a total of 105 watts now. What is the wattage on the hella lights? The reason I ask is if they are 50 watts each, you may draw too much for the stator to keep up.
