yes they are factory. the bulbs in the hellas are 55w ea. what could i do to the stock headlights to keep the same brightness but lower the watts. same for the hellas. i was thinkin bout gettin the clear lights anyways instead of the yellowish/gold thats been around forever

Halogen lights are designed that the brighter you want the more watts they draw. Not much you can do to get a brighter light with out more watt usage. The white halogens look brighter because there is no tint on the bulb itself. Try installing the lights you have, just to see what may happen. Once installed, turn the lights on while the engine is running and see if the motor changes its idle speed. If the motor boggs down slightly. If so, your drawing too much wattage for the stator to keep up. If not, your good to go...Good luck.

ps. Thats why I went with H.I.D.s I get 3x the light at half the watts of halogens.

I have hids on all 3 lights. You must know what bulb # is in there now, then try extremehids.com to get prices. I think mine ran $140.00 for all 3. I went with the 6000k light kit (slim ballast). No mods to hook up the lights, just find a place to mount the ballast.

i hooked up (2) hella 500s up to the front of my quad. i spliced them in to the high beam wire but i kept blowing fuses every now and then so i had to carry spares around but after a while i put the hellas back on my truck and bought 4 off brand 55w lights and added a bigger fuse (30amp i think) on there and they worked perfect so far

You could have used them with a relay and it wouldn't have blown the fuse. You could have run the power straight from the battery to the lights. You could have spliced the trigger wire from the relay into the high beam wire, so they would come on with the high beams.

that sounded really smart but it was so simple lol

good job
