It's an '89 5.0L LX. It just turned 252,000 miles a couple of days ago.

Best car I have ever owned. And believe it or not it's paid for.

In two more years it will be a classic. ;)

If I owned a car older than me it would have a 6-volt system and a starter button.

Sad but I've put more miles on it this year than any other year I've owned it.

I had some medical issues and put over 10,000 miles on it since Oct mostly going back and forth from here to Salt Lake, about a 500 mile round trip.

The drivers seat has a tear in it and is wearing pretty thin. My son-in-law has been talking about a nice Katzkin leather interior, that's what the OEs are using. He said he can perfectly match the OE leather interior. B)

I took that picture while I was there Saturday upgrading the amp for my sub, the new JL Audio kicks a$$. ;)

The Fox body Mustang is demanding some good coin these days and Ive recently bought and sold 2 of them.
The first one was a 90 4cylinder hatchback that I bought for 200 bux and had a few dents but was basically rust free.
Then I bought a 89 5.0 GT convertible for 500 bux planning on robbing the drive train out of it for the first.
But when I got home with the vert I fell in love with it and decided to sell the 90 4 cylinder car. I got 650 from the first kid to answer my craigslist ad.
Last winter times got tuff and decided to sell the Vert and posted it for sale for 1500 or best and had about 30 people burning up my puter and phone and sold it for exactly what I was asking.
Had I known that there was such a demand for the Fox body mustang I could have probably asked 2500 or best for the car.
Ive probably owned more than 20 Foxbody mustangs in my lifetime and I must be gettin old and let life in the Mustang world slip me by a bit because I didint realize that clean Fox body mustangs are getting harder to find and the prices they are demanding are crazy!
Rubiranch, Ive seen pics of your stang in other post and its in pretty decent shape, So keep that in mind if and when you ever sell it.
Oh, and I hear ya on the difference in ATV and car/truck tires as I spent 390 bux mounted balanced and installed for my 98 E150 work van and spent a bit more than that on my Bighorns.lol

thanks Wingman but I'll keep it til its worthless.

I enjoy driving it a lot. Most people wouldn't want it because its an automatic. My brother ordered it new for his wife and she didn't want a 5-speed. I bought it from my brother in '98 with 100,386 miles on it. It was still on it's second set of Goodyear Eagle GT tires counting the set from the factory.

I had the un-touched OE trans replaced at 236,000 miles and the guy who put the trans in went down the list about what great shape its in.

He pointed out that it had never been hit and still has all the factory paint (could use a paint job bad). He also told me about 99% of the 5.0Ls have sub-frame problems from the body twisting from being launched real hard all the time.

He asked what I had done to the engine because it still ran great for 136,000 miles. He about fell over when I told him the only things on the engine that had ever been touched was the thermostat and water pump and he needed to add another 100k to the mileage. It still has the new Motorcraft water pump I installed over 130,000 miles ago. I've still never had a valve cover or intake or any other part off the engine.

The car has never been beat or abused but it does get a little exercise every now and then. ;) I get 25-27 mpg on the HWY and average a little over 18 around town.

All I've done was install an H-pipe, set the timing up a few degrees and run premium.

My son-in-law owns the highest volume car audio dealer in the entire U.S. so it naturally has an awesome sound system and I love driving it and it loves cruising on the open freeway. :)

I'm sure that you wanted to know all of that.

Rubiranch, Just looking at the tire pic in this post tells me you have a nice Foxbody stang! Them phone dial rims are pretty clean!
Im a member of a few mustang forums and never tire of somebody saying how much they like their mustang because I love them all as well!
I might be a little bit bias tho as my last name is Ford and I have a Built Ford tough Tattoo on my back!,and only drive Fords!lol

thanks Wingman

Its the perfect car for me.

It's really economical and I can get around someone on a two lane HWY when I need to. ;)

My last names not Ford and no tattoos but I have been acused of my blood being blue.

H22, My 89 gt convertible had the same ground effects as yours and your stang looks tuff man!

Thank you sir! These things are a dime a dozen around here but its really hard to find a straight and clean one like mine. I probably paid too much for it when I bought it 5-6 years ago but it was worth it to me knowing it only had 16k miles on it. Garage kept from a 65yr old original owner....... I guess it was his mid life crisis presant :)

I'll bet mine could do the quarter in less than 25 seconds

With 2.73 gears (or waht ever they are) and a 3-speed auto with over drive I can squeeze a little over 90 in sconde gear.

80 mph down the freeway is just barely over 1800 rpm.

HAHA, I wish mine was an auto! My buddy just converted his over to auto, its build like a tank. 5 speeds are fun I guess but for the track you almost need an auto tranny. Besides.... I dont feel like shifting anymore haha.

The auto was very appealing to me because I knew I would beat the he!! out of it if it had a 5-speed. :)

In the old days you had to have a 4-speed if you wanted your car to be fast. These days consistancy is what wins.
