It's an '89 5.0L LX. It just turned 252,000 miles a couple of days ago.
Best car I have ever owned. And believe it or not it's paid for. ![]() In two more years it will be a classic. ![]() If I owned a car older than me it would have a 6-volt system and a starter button.

The Fox body Mustang is demanding some good coin these days and Ive recently bought and sold 2 of them.
The first one was a 90 4cylinder hatchback that I bought for 200 bux and had a few dents but was basically rust free. Then I bought a 89 5.0 GT convertible for 500 bux planning on robbing the drive train out of it for the first. But when I got home with the vert I fell in love with it and decided to sell the 90 4 cylinder car. I got 650 from the first kid to answer my craigslist ad. Last winter times got tuff and decided to sell the Vert and posted it for sale for 1500 or best and had about 30 people burning up my puter and phone and sold it for exactly what I was asking. Had I known that there was such a demand for the Fox body mustang I could have probably asked 2500 or best for the car. Ive probably owned more than 20 Foxbody mustangs in my lifetime and I must be gettin old and let life in the Mustang world slip me by a bit because I didint realize that clean Fox body mustangs are getting harder to find and the prices they are demanding are crazy! Rubiranch, Ive seen pics of your stang in other post and its in pretty decent shape, So keep that in mind if and when you ever sell it. Oh, and I hear ya on the difference in ATV and car/truck tires as I spent 390 bux mounted balanced and installed for my 98 E150 work van and spent a bit more than that on my Bighorns.lol

thanks Wingman but I'll keep it til its worthless.
![]() I enjoy driving it a lot. Most people wouldn't want it because its an automatic. My brother ordered it new for his wife and she didn't want a 5-speed. I bought it from my brother in '98 with 100,386 miles on it. It was still on it's second set of Goodyear Eagle GT tires counting the set from the factory. I had the un-touched OE trans replaced at 236,000 miles and the guy who put the trans in went down the list about what great shape its in. He pointed out that it had never been hit and still has all the factory paint (could use a paint job bad). He also told me about 99% of the 5.0Ls have sub-frame problems from the body twisting from being launched real hard all the time. He asked what I had done to the engine because it still ran great for 136,000 miles. He about fell over when I told him the only things on the engine that had ever been touched was the thermostat and water pump and he needed to add another 100k to the mileage. It still has the new Motorcraft water pump I installed over 130,000 miles ago. I've still never had a valve cover or intake or any other part off the engine. The car has never been beat or abused but it does get a little exercise every now and then. I get 25-27 mpg on the HWY and average a little over 18 around town. All I've done was install an H-pipe, set the timing up a few degrees and run premium. My son-in-law owns the highest volume car audio dealer in the entire U.S. so it naturally has an awesome sound system and I love driving it and it loves cruising on the open freeway. ![]() I'm sure that you wanted to know all of that.
