Default Bighorn and Bighorn 2.0

Other than the obvious narrower lugs, whats the difference. In a 26" they both have a 25/32 lug depth. If this is already on here im sorry, I was just looking around online and cant seem to figure out the difference in the two.

The 2.0 is slightly lighter also...... Talk to wydglide, I believe he has the 2.0s

They are both radial according to maxxis. Im just kinda wondering what they did to cut weight. In the 26", theres only a couple pounds per tire difference, so maybe its just the narrower lugs. I know on the sizes smaler than 26 the 2.0 has a shallower tread depth, and on the regular bighorn the sizes above 25 have a shallower depth. hmmmm...... I couldnt imagine them destroying the bighorn reputation with a thin sidewall to save weight.

I think they use a different rubber compound also. Most people around here run the originals not the 2.0. They don't seem to be as popular. That's about the extend of my knowledge on them, not really my kind of tire.

Glide has quite a few miles on his and is pleased with them. I always thought (maybe it changed) that the difference was smaller lugs equaling a lighter tire but maybe I thought wrong. I really dont know how they saved the weight other than what you said by thinning out the sidewalls!?

if there is only a couple of pounds per tire difference and not much $$ difference, what would posess one to purchase the 2.0 over the original I wonder. I only keep using 26" as an example because that seems to be a popular size to run on foremans. Maybe Glide will chime in.

I purchased the 2.0 Bighorns without knowing that they dont have the white lettering otherwise I would have went with the original.
I just thought that the 2.0 must be new and improved and thats why I went that direction but I really was wanting the white lettering.
Wydeglide has the original bighorns if I remember correctly?
I went with 25in and they are slightly taller than Oem but not much.

If I had to do it over again Id go with the originals in 26in.

I have the 25" 2.0's on my Rincon, and didn't get them because of the color of the lettering. They are supposed to be a sportier version of the originals. When I first put them on and rode, they reminded me of my Razr tires that I had on my sport quads. All kinds of traction, especially on hills and in the corners. They will slide it and hook up on the way out.

I think like the originals a little better for the white lettering as well. Just have some reservations about a 12" wide rear tire.
