I bought a set of 27" Maxxis Mud Bugs for my 15 Rubicon. I really wanted a set of 28's, but was worried that I wouldn't have the clearance to run them. After I got the 27's on, I noticed so many guys running 30's on the new Rubicons (Talk about the Dodge Truck of ATV fender wells!!!). Anyway I was a little disappointed that I got the 27's which still looked small on my machine. It worked out awesome because a buddy found out I wanted the 28's and he bought my 27's from me for what I paid for them (they were still brand new). I took some pictures of the 27's one one side and the 28's on the other as I was swapping them over.
So how do they work in the snow? I was wondering about these as an alternate to my 26" bighorns which, really only make enough power for second gear in deep snow. I can climb a steep slope in second with rpm's up.
I've had really good luck with the bugs in the snow. If you have throttle control you can stay on top linger than other tires. Once you dig down and find bottom they have great traction on the frozen surface or mud.
Mud Bugs are pretty much the best tires I've ran. Good in everything, not too rough, not too heavy, not too expensive. Do excellent in mud and snow....

Very Mean looking tire! I too like the wide look. I have 26x12x12 tractor style tire on my 2003 Rubi. Don't think 28x12 would fit. What sort of money are those over there if you don't mind me asking? You guys get things allot cheaper than us.
I noticed on the ride Saturday that the lugs on the 26" Mud Bugs are spaced wider than they are on the 27's.
Run 10's up front or it won't steer worth a crap. Run 12's in back for additional traction.
