I remember yeas ago my uncle was telling us that he and his hunting buddy bought two jeeps right after the war, probably late 40s CJs.

His buddy put dual wheels an the back and when they went hunting his friend couldn't keep up with him in his stock jeep. They figured the added width created too much drag rather than more traction.

I off-roaded for years. My truck has a Dertroit Locker in the rear and a Ford Trak-Lok in the front. I much preferred tall skinny tires over wide ones.

nice video its always a good day when your out jeeping!!! i have had several willys cjs and one cherokee and my favorite tire size was 33-10.50-15 or 34-11s but i did have a 72 cj5 with 35-14-15s and that thing would practically float through the bogs but with a welded rearend it wasnt to good for the snow up here it would swing around on you on a snowey road without warning!, but at 6,4 i fell in love with the extra room in the fj40s so im not much of a jeeper anymore but man did i have some great times and if you ever broke anything there was always a rusted out parts jeep in a field somewhere that could be had for only 100 bucks

Rubi, every jeep in that video with the blue tj in the begining has some type of v8 in it, so power isnt the case. The yj with duallies had a small block 400 in it. Those guys have some crazy rigs and they have done ALOT more work to them over the years. Now that everybody is gettin older and grown up we dont go out any more. When ya pick up some free time its mostly spent in the woods hunting..... Man it was nice to not have a care in the world...... But I wouldnt trade having a family now for anything.

Yea we've went through several jeeps. Most of the guys we used to run with had 38's or above. The tahoe has the biggest at the time with 42s. Now I have a buddy with an 84 GMC with 52's on it and he wants to go bigger. HAHA its crazy what you can do with spare money
