Default old bural site

hey, went on a short ride today, with my wife and couple friends, and we stumbled on an old cematery, thought it was pretty nice site to be placed, the markers were mostly gone, we did find a few in good repair. this one was 1857-1940..were talking horse and buggy days.

I love old cemetaries !
I was hunting on the neighboring farm once when I was a kid and I jumped up on what I thought was a rock to look out into the field. I noticed the rock was tall and skinny. I looked at it closely and quickly noticed it was a VERY old headstone !! it freaked me out. I didn't know that cemetary was even there in the woods. I have since visited it many times. it is the family plot ( the Beamans) that used to own that property. There are a good many children in there that died of Diptheria !
There is a civil war soldier buried there. ( died in 1864) So, being a Desert Storm vet, I make it a point to put a flag on his headstone on memorial day every year. His father is also buried there and it says on his headstone that he is the son of a Revolutionary War soldier. I wonder why they would mention that is the son ?
