Anybody ride the Michaux state forest atv trails? I've read that a 2 year registration is only $20.00 per atv. My atv's are already insured. Just wanted to get some feedback before i register online and plan a trip there. It's about a hour and 40 min. ride for my group from here in baltimore. Thanks.

68 Dave,
I have ridden Michaux many times and let me say it is by far my least favorite Pa. state forrest trail system to ride of the handful I have ridden. Michaux is known for being very rocky. There are just rocks everywhere. It's either all loose rocks or the kind that are embedded and do not move and make it very slow going. You will find little to no mud holes if you like to play in the mud and other than a section of dirt road that is open it is difficult to find a place to open it up and cruise at a faster paced speed. There are no "play areas" that most other atv areas offer, just beat your brains out rocks! Don't get me wrong, I can't say whether it is worth your while to make the trip or not but just know that before you go. I really can't offer up anything better that's close as I usually travel to northern pa to Whisky Springs where there is loads of mud... Hence my name. Sorry, I didn't mean to sound so negative. You might want to check some other message boards and get other opinions. wm |
