Default Organizing a PA ride, Minersville AREA

After Reading Pa riding PA RIDING I thought I would start a thread for a day ride in my neck of the woods. Then I found this about leading aa ride Being a Guide or Leader of a Ride

I thought I would try and set up a Ride for some of us to meet and talk about our quads on a nice day ride here in the Minersville, PA area. My hopes are that someone then would do the same to allow others on this board to come to their backyard and lead a ride.

What the ride will be like is this. I have 4 boys of my own. 2 that ride ages 8 and 9. The other two are only 1 and 3 so they will be riding shortly. The ride I do is about a 4 to 5 hour ride that explores the area around Minersville. So this will be a ride that is very easy. It does require the crossing of Route 901 2 times which is very easy. There is also a short section of a back road that must be traveled.

If you would be interested in going Respond and suscribe to this thread with your name and possible times. I was thinking Jan. 29, 2011. This is ProBowl weekend and should be a good weekend, weather permitting.

We could set out around 10am and travel to some local sites in the area. All I can promise is a nice ride the entire family can enjoy.

If you think the date is too close let me know and we can try another date.

I will update with more information. In the middle of the ride we will be really close to the 901 Pub. Not sure if this is something we want to do for lunch or if we want to just pack a lunch. These details will be worked out the week leading up to the 29th!

Kewl!! 901 Pub! We used to eat lunch there every time when we went. Just like old times!

As a matter of fact we used to follow the dead end road right beside 901 Pub and park at the end. There is (or was) a trail head at the end of the road.

901PUB.com - Home

Trail is still there. It branches off in many directions and you can go just about anywhere in Schuylkill County from there!

Is that the pub where you make a right off exit #116?, does'nt it have a plane or something on the roof? I make the left off the exit towards schmokin and drive down to high st. So this trailhead is alot closer to I-81, thats good to know, thanks happyeaglesfan.
