Default hey too deep or some other smart person !!

I had a guy bring me a suzuki vinson 500 2006 model today would barley run had sat for a year or 2 and it had bad gas in it and the carb was gummed up

well i took her apart and cleaned (everything) out put a new plug in it the guy had bought a factory air filter and he really just wanted me to tune her up and get it running real good he is going to ohio on a hunting trip thursday

well to the point when i fire it up it chugs and blows black smoke its flooding its self to death tried everything with it messed with the air fuel mixture still no difference and it does have an accelerator pump checked it and it was nice and clean the movement was good i just dont know what else to do ??

LOL HELP

I'm not too familiar with a Suzuki, but sounds like the float is hung open to me.

well the reason i dont think its the float is there is no gas pouring out of the overflow and that was one of the first things i checked i taped on the carb with a screw driver as soon as i turned the gas on lol its a habit

but this thing is way different than anyhting i've ever worked on the carb runs off vacuum like a truck or a car the fuel selector has no off it only has a pri which means prime and a on

the prime is used when cold starting as it bypasses the vacuum i mean the bike starts perfect but its blowing the black smoke like crazy i wonder if the throttle valve has anything to do with it ?

and like i said before it has a accelerator pump like a automotive carb its crazy i may have bit off more than i can chew on this one

How's the choke? If it's sticking in the on position that will give you this problem.

well i took your advice too deep and checked the choke and it was working perfect when i start the bike it runs good for about 30 seconds and then it goes to bucking like crazy

i pulled the carb off again today and checked the float height it looked a little off so i bent it a little and now i can actually get on the bike and ride it but it still runs like crap

the motor revs wonderful so i know its not mechanical (engine wise)

could this be a problem with the accelerator pump or the throttle valve ?

i have checked them both a dozen times and they look perfect

i have no clue on this one im about bald where i've been pullin my hair out
