We are looking to buy another utility atv and one of the ones we are looking at is a Polaris. We think but are not sure that it is a 2 stroke motor.
First does Polaris make good atvs and second what do you think about 2 stroke atvs? Thanks guys! |

year? size? there are some bad polaris fourwheelers for instince a 95 popo 500 sucks. as far as two strokes go i LOVE them thats what i want to get when i sell mine but for a utility atv i would say no on a two stroke if its going to be a work horse you would be more happy with a 4 stroke they are much more reliable
and of course if you want reliability......... get a honda

I was told to stay away from Polaris and Arctic Cat.....neither one likes water. So, welcome and....get a Honda! Wish I had the money to have gotten a Honda motorcycle and lawnmower too. They really know what's going on in the small engine world.

Polaris has gotten a little better over the years but the older 2 stroke ones are a lot of maintenance. Depending on the year and money you want to spend on one will make a difference plus what it will be used for.

yeah you get more power out of a two stroke but it is power with a pocket book. i do the mud racing so that would be fine for me stuff breaks no matter what you do with that. but if you were just going to drive it, i would definitely get a either newer polaris 2000+ or any honda

Stay with a 4 stroke 2 stroke is just problem wating to happen. Polaris the older 500s like to use water and over heat a lot. They also have a poor oiling system if you let them itle much they will eat cams. Look on there Fourm and you see there problems. The are a nice riding bike though.

Yea we have decided against polaris! lol Didn't take long! We do have 1 honda now and we both ride honda motorcycles! So we do love honda! Its just the matter of finding one affordable or someone who is looking to trade for a golf cart.
So if anyone is interested...we have a 95 gas club car golf cart for sale or trade! |

Another random question...would anyone happen to have a shop manual for a 03 or 04 suzuki quadmatic 400? My friends keeps wanting to stall after about 10 min of riding and the carbs have already been taken off and cleaned really good.
