i found a 91 cr80 2 stroke for $150. the bike needs either new rings, new piston or maby even have to bore it out. as far as i know nothing else is wrong with it. it runs but has no power and not that good of compression. is there anything i should check out about this bike before i buy it? do you all think its a good deal or not? i am 6'2" and weigh 150, from what the owner told me there are two different kinds of cr80's. one has small wheels and one has bigger wheels. the one im thinking about getting has the bigger wheels, which means it sets up higher, i am just wondering if it will be big enough for me. it dont run that good so i cant ride it. any input on this would be great.

That actually sounds like a pretty good deal, bore it out to like 100cc and stuff and it would be a really fast bike!!
and no this bike would probably not be big enough, it could always be like a little pit bike though. might want to check the suspension also, u don't want blown fork seals or anything. but like i said, it should be a great buy if you are willing to fix the engine up. i would go for it.

thanks for the tips, how hard of a time do you think it would have hauling me around? do you think it could haul me up hills and stuff or would i have to stay on the flater stuff? i wouldnt be riding this all the time, just manily to have some fun on, clumb some hills and just mess around on. i know that 2 strokes have some power behind them but i have never rode one this small.

I don't think it would be too bad in going up hills and stuff. 2 strokes usually double or sometimes triple in power more than the 4 strokes.
My friend has a 125 4 stoke and he is 140 lbs and he makes it up steep hills just fine. But from what you said, you might want to rebuild the engine because its an old bike, and second it has no power. but other than that everything else sounds good. hope you have fun on you new bike.
