The part of the country you're in means alot too. Around here 4x4s go rather high where sport quads go dirt cheap. Thats why most people buy new.

It's the same here, you can pick up a brand new sport quad for dirt cheap from the dealer, cause its been sitting there for 4 years and no one bought it! haha

Back in the day when we still had a local MX track (3 miles away) and several other tracks within id say 100 miles sport quads were still rather expensive (so where bikes but they are still holding a remotely good value). Now that the local track has closed down and many other are shutting their doors (Hmm maybe its because not as many people race due to the economy, and some fat kid would rather play video games instead of enjoy the outdoors) SQs are cheap and everybody that used to race or ride them now switched over to these lazyboys with wheels . My buddy just picked up an 07 450r for $2200. Good lord I remember when I was still racing I wanted a 400ex in the worst way for a pit bike..... a 4 yr old machine was still going for 4-5 grand, and you couldnt give away a utility quad.

Its funny how things fade in and out of style, who would have thought it would have happened to such a high dollar item.
Maybe we still have a chance that 2-strokes will fade back into that picture *fingers crossed*.

No matter the market in the area, I would always go high and add OBO to the price. Most won't touch it unless they think they go ya down a couple hundred!

I never add OBO, that way they expect you to deny a lowball and then when you say you will decrease your price people will jump on it.
But I think we can all agree on start high and go from there. People get their jollies off thinking they got a deal.

I sold a raptor back in 08. I wanted to get $1000 for it and I was asking 1500. The guy laughed when he threw me a lowball of 1100...... I told him go get me a case of beer, a roll of snuff and ill take 1100 for it. He thought I was joking until I told him directions to the nearest beer distributor.

So for 1100 cash a case of bud and a roll of redseal I sold my quad

I totally respect your opinion h22ate. When I see an add with obo, I see a motivated seller and feel we can both work out a comfortable price. The issue of lowballers are always there when posting a public add, selling price is still up to the seller.

Like it says, I'm just thinkin about it...I sure love the dependability of my Honda, it's nice never worrying if it's gonna crank when I'm ready. I ride with brutes and grizzlys though, I'm tired of behind so far behind when we ride. Lol

I know what you mean. One day hopefully soon honda will have something big. From what I keep hearing its gonna be a v-twin, but who knows when they'll ever relase it.
