I heat my garage with oil fired hot air furnace that came out of a mobile home. It was brand new, but got dented during installation and had to be replaced. Took on trade for a job I did for a guy. I keep it set at 45 all winter and turn it up if I am out there working on something. It is great because my atv never freezes up after plowing and everything dries off when I'm done. Not to mention the fact that now my wife is happy because my Harley isn't in the living room all winter! LOL!

H22,Thats the reason I ended up with my Fisher.
I was installing doors and windows in a customers home and they had this killer looking living room with notty pine walls and trim and the Fisher was in the corner and looked like it had barely been used.
I was admiring the woodburner and was giving them compliments on how nice the room looked, when the wife said she hated the room because it was too rustic looking and that some day it was all gonna get a makeover.
The husband told me I could haul it off if I would patch the ceiling and the roof where the pipe went thru.
Patching the roof and ceiling was the easy part because I had to go and get a refrigerator dolly and couple of strong guys to move the fisher.
When I got home with it I googled Fisher and found out that they are somewhat of a collectible and have seen want ads of people looking for these things.
They made a baby bear, momma bear, papa bear, grandma bear and grandpa bear and I think they stop making them 1982. Mine is a Grandma Bear made in 1980 and it was like new when I got it but its spent the last few years in my garage and got worked!!!lolWoodburners!-450-foreman-089.jpg

It has the same scene on it as my uncles, its probably the same one. Back in 86 he and my aunt moved back to my area and he had to sell his original fisher that he bought...... Well he remodeled his basement which is about 1500sq ft, put in a sweet bar, pine walls brick flooring and he needed something big to heat it with. He called the guy who he had sold his fisher to back in 86, the guy still had it and wasnt using it so my uncle drove from here to philly to pick it up! I think it was like a 7hr drive but he got his old burner back!

That woman didnt like the rustic look.... sounds like it would have been a sweet place, were going to be doing the knotty pine ceiling in ours, and some type of distressed flooring.

Yeah, The room I pulled this fisher from looked like it should have had Deerheads and snow shoes hanging from the wall and probably did before this young couple bought the place.
