Default Transfering atv title in kentucky advice

I am thinking about selling my 2004 Honda Foreman to a guy who lives a few hours away. I have the title what would I do about the title if I meet him halfway to get the quad? He hasn't asked for it yet. Anything bad happen if I never signed the title over and kept it or just gave it to him? THANKS!!!

Should you do the title transfer in front of a Notary Public? There's usually many private Notary Public persons in all communities. Perhaps checking Notary Publics in the area you will meet and schedule an appointment? Not sure how to do the transfer, just giving ideas. I know Notary Publics do auto transfers.

I'd call my local County Clerk's office for advice on transferring it.

Meet him at the DMV, lol. Thats what I did today. I traded my street bike for an 08 TRX700XX, so we met halfway at a title bureau in PA. We traded straight up, but Ohio needs a price or whatever, so we wrote 5K on the bill of sale and the guy said it would be good to get it registered in Ohio.

You sign your name as the seller and the buyer signs his name as the new buyer, then he sends the title off to come back in his name,if you are selling it straight up and legit, you have to let the title go with the ATV,afterall you got it when you bought it!!!!

muddigger70 is right on all accounts......it will be more hassle if u keep the title and make a bill of sale with your signature......he could scam you or sue you and give you all kinds of grief with a hand written signature on a plain piece of paper
