I need some help with cell phones...
My EX-wife wants to get my 9 & 12 year old sons cell phones. She will purchase them and she wants me to pay the monthly bill. I think they are too young still. I believe the cell phones should wait till they're in high school...9th grade. Both of my kids get GREAT grades, but I'm torn. Give me a hand on this, please....

ahhhh to be young and have a phone with internet access .i cant see that going wrong !!!!!!!!!! put your foot down man JUST SAY NO!
if you do get them phones get them preepaid ones then you can controll how much thay are on it

dont let her get them "smartphones" i can understand wanting to be able to call an check on them, or if they need to get ahold of you in an emergency. but that should be all they need. none of the fancy crap

Get a basic plan. Low minutes and low text messaging. And talk her into getting cheaper phones because they phones will probably take a beating in the hands of children. And get insurance because they will mostly likely loose them somewhere.

My 12 y/o has his own cell phone. I locked it down to where he can't download anything. It is actually good, because when we need to get ahold of him we can. Also if something bad happens we can track the phone that is on him all the time.
I would not suggest getting low text messages because that is all they do! It does not cost that much extra for unlimited messages.
