![]() just plug it into USB...copy & paste your (stuff you do not want to ever loose) to the drive ....unplug and stash away!....this is something I learned first hand years ago & is Computing 101! Trust me on this one .......it's worth the money (you might find better deals if you shop around, but it would not be worth the time to screw with it)

Agree 110%. I have 2 1.5Tb drives to back up all the files between both laptops, & the desktop. I copy the files individually & do a full system backup. One drive is in my gun safe, and one is in a safety deposit box just in case. I usually make a backup every 60 days, take 1 drive with me to work, over write the other & toss it back in the sdb. For Christmas last year I converted a bunch of VHS tapes of my wifes family (Her mom passed when she was 4) over to digital format & DVDs..... Sent copies to her brother/sister too. A lot of folks never think about backing stuff like that up though until its too late. When I told her why I did it her face kinda changed & the lightbulb lit. Had something happened to those tapes....it would have been bad.

simple fix... surf on a virtual machine. When you are done close it out and it resets.. Anything downloaded is erased. Problem solved.. Problem staying solved.

Bliu I needed something to cheer me up this morning....that done it! and NO disrespect to any of the other members, but it's hard enough explaining how to do a "simple back up to an external drive" to most, let alone VM & it's simply because people are not interested in learning for the most part! but again it's 432am and I just got up for the 3rd time, what do I know......hehehehe Rock on Bliu, ya made my morning! Glide

Only thing I do over the net that isn't on a VM is play my MMORPG. I work / surf on a VM. I have just about ever OS you can think of, but I am very fluent in UNIX and can get around in command line. It is the safest way for me because my work sends me to some very questionable sites.

Yep! If people knew that they are paying hundreds of dollars for windows on that dell computer they are buying from Best Buy they would crap. You can build a computer of same specs for very cheap and put UNIX / LINUX on it which is FREE. Gnome is just about the same look and function of Windows just need a little knowledge to run some programs. But how many people use a computer just for "surfing". LOL
