A friend just went on a Mexican vacation because it was cheap ( I think he said around $400 a piece with air). They got to do everything plus enjoy themselves. Something to think about or check out. Funny thing he said is that when he was there he met mostly Canadians on a vaca.

Yes she did, not sure if she's going to continue though. The joy of our area is we can hunt and have plenty to hunt. Funny us locals consider everything as a pest and could take anyone out and they would have their limit in no time but they like the lodges to hunt the chickens or sit all day looking for a turkey or deer and they pay big money???? I grew up with a couple fawns as pets because dad disked (sp??) over their mother and brought them home to raise. Worked good until the GFP found out and then they just jumped the fence until the y was gone and came back. That was neat...

A kid I know hit one (fawn) a couple years ago and it didnt die. He took her home and built a BIG enclosed pen and it had an old chicken coop to sleep in. If he called its namd she'd come running out it was so funny. He ended up letting it go when she grew up and had no problems health wise. My buddies cousin is sponcered by real-tree and they go out on a hunt to SD every year. My buddy does his filming. He got a huge gobbler out there about 4 years ago. What kind of big game do you guys have out that way?

Most common is dear and turkeys. Pheasant hunting is a huge business (that's what I call chickens). There is also the elk and moose and pretty much anything that would be native to the area. I personally gave up on hunting when it became so commercialized, took the fun out of it. My bass fishing has been the same, so I ride more often. My kids will fish and hunt and ride because I know enough people but I feel sorry for the ones who don't'.

I loved to hunt as a kid but after I grew a little older I realized, how hard is it to shoot a deer with a high powered rifle and a scope. So if I do go out in rifle season its either with an open sight .44 mag, or my OLD mossin m91. I like to archery hunt but thats about it. Now bass fishin is what I do lol, I cant get enough of it but Im usually working durring the spawn. The ol lady only likes to go out on the boat fishing but Im still a huge fan of me a buddy and a 30pack sitting on a bank at night!

We have some dams around here you can go out in about mid July and use the buzz bait and that is the best. They come up and grab it like nothing. I also like going to the river and just sit back and relax and wait for the pole to bend. I'm about 20 min from everything.

We have about a 30 acre pond in a 5minute quad ride from us. I used to fish it as a kid, its great bass pond in the day and of course cat n carp at night. I also have the monongahela, part of the "pittsburgh 3 rivers" about 5 minutes in the car. So we're pretty taken care of for fishing around here. Tara has never been fishing until this summer so I got her a pink ugly stick, she loves fishin on the boat cause when she gets board she can play in the water (and scare all my fish away). Im a big fan of buzz baits at night, hear a splash and yank thats the best!
Edit: I see that chrisssteven didnt last too long..... I guess people have nothing better to do on a friday night. |
