Default Been away doing some good stuff!!!

I've been away for a while because we are working on moving from IN back down to NC. Anyway, we got this orgasmic house out in the sticks and I just had to tell somebody who could appreciate it . Let me paint you a picture. The road ends and turns to private gravel. On your right you will see a very nice groomed motorcross track, not AMA level but good enough for a local motocross event. The people are always riding on it and rode over the first time I drove by to meet me and invite me to come ride anytime. You continue by and go up the mountain another mile or so passing no other houses or people along the way. At the end of the road is my 400ft driveway which is a 4wd only affair. The house sits on 5 acres of very steep wooded land facing north with its back to the mountain and a 180 degree view from due east to due west of the blue ridge mountains. You will hear the sexy sound of a CRF 450 ripping it, echoing up the valley. My land is surrounded by 100 acres of unused land owned by the Forest Service. That 100 acres is surrounded by thousands of acres of no-mans land. I'm sure someone owns it, but there are no houses and it is pretty much unused and fair game for riding. As soon as we get settled I'm heading to the dealer to pick up another 420 for my wife. We gotta each have utility quads to take full advantage of this place, no more double up!

Same thing happened to me Red.....fell in love with riding Quads last year and was riding my Gf's '06 Foreman so much I went and bought myself a New '09 Foreman so she didnt have to ride her old '99 wolverine..

Now we both can ride in Comfort and enjoy the endless breath taking Views of East Tennessee!

Hay, how far are you from the Dragon & are ya going to come to HondaFest?

Glide, our new place is in Morganton, NC. I'd say we are about 3 hours from Murphy, so maybe 3.5ish to the Dragon.

I've only been down the Dragon once. About two years ago me and my wife used it accidentally on the way to Lake Hiwassee from Indiana. I'd heard of the Dragon before but didn't know exactly where it was at. On the way south we saw RT 129 and it looked liked a direct shot from Knoxville to the Murphy area so we took it. Needless to say it wasn't the most ideal route for a puny V-6 towing an 18 ft boat, with a Sea doo in the bed and all loaded down with gear. I had cherry red manifolds, warped rotors, smoke brakes and a partially toasted tranny by the time I got done. It was an awesome experience though with the spectacular views of the lakes below and all the sport bikes screaming by.

What's the deal with HondaFest? When, where, what goes on? I'd love to come ride that part of the state. The distance is not a factor, I do 3 hour drives before breakfast. I guess it will just depend on how long it takes us to get settled at our new place and whether we can get another quad by then.

CRAP!....V6 + 18ft boat on the Dragon!!!!!
that road has taken out many a Cage to say nothing of Motorcycles with its 318 curves in 11 miles, which used to be fun but I just feel theirs WAY too many non-skilled riders.

but theirs 1000's of riders ride it every day, last time I rode it on my Harley was 2 years ago also, its beautiful but the Camera people W/2ft lens setting up on "every curve" just didn't set right with me
for more info try http://www.tailofthedragon.com

HondaFest
we are trying to have a 3 day Event on Sept 17th-19th for the membership & their friends, so we can put faces with the names & enjoy some fellowship.

We will be riding the Royal Blue Area's on the East & West sides, with Saturday being the big day we will be doing a 40 +/- mile ride, I have posted everything I can think of in my SIGNATURE below.

just click the Link and post some feed back........I sure could use some help rallying the troops and any Idea's are welcome from all the membership!

Respects!
