Well as you said its obviously a concept machine. But I talked to the rep a couple weeks ago and my buddy talked to him the other day. They are coming out with both a side by side and a big bore utility but they havent released any more details other than they will both have the same twin cylinder motor and the sXs will be an 11, with the quad coming out in 12. But who knows with every honda fanatic out there is wanting a big bore, they may release the quad sooner. But like I said they do want to put out the sXs first.
P.S. about the only magazines I look at have bullets in'm right now ;-)

Im just surprised with that article of a concept machine they didt give it v-tec. Once that happens to an atv motor its going to be nuts, im sure sometime in the future with the huge development of big bores it will happen.

OK HERE WE GO.........
I couldnt wait to get home and post this tonight for you guys out there. I talked to my buddy today from the shop and he gave me the scoop that their rep gave them on the upcoming hondas.
Before I get into that let me touch on the new polaris rzr, my buddies shop is a honda/polaris shop. For 2011 the rzr will have the different cc models. and the newest addition is the new rzr 950 , which will be a special limited production model that will turn into a mass production model in 2013. The 95- will have 100HP!!! now Ive been in quite a few rzr 800s and they are very powerful machines and they only have 55HP so the new machine is going to be a beast. It will also have HID headlights. OK Enough with polaris on with Honda.
In 2012 theyre shooting for (1/1/2012) Honda is supposed to be unveiling a big bore SxS with a 1000cc v-twin. The rep said the 800 class has been conquered and now with polaris in the 900 class they are goin all out on the new one. I asked what transmission the new 1000 will have, well my buddy said thats still in development. Remember the honda "concept" pics od the goldwing motor on a sxs..... that was an actual test machine but could not be produced because the price of just the motor was 8grand! The rep said theyre still up in arms on the tranmission, the one he test drove has a 5speed manual gear box. So they think they might have a fully automatic + a paddle shift option, but like I said (he told me this) its still under developement so theyre not sure what theyre gonna put in it. Im hoping along the lines of a beefy hondamatic with paddle shifters . The rep also told him that they will also be merging this same 1000 motor in an ATV!!!!! WOO HOO honda will be back ontop with a massive motor in their mr reliable red wing machines. So hopefully in 2012 we will see the birth of a 1000cc sxs from honda, and its still up in the air when they will put that motor in an atv but it is coming. So ladies and gentleman just wait dont jump ship just yet.......we're getting some power!!!

If Honda put their effort and development of their 3 wheelers and quadracers they had in the 80's and 90's into the utility sport quads NOW...they would far surpass the other brands...they did it before...they can do it again.

..now to save some pennies for the new atv ....lol

honda dont have to be the fastest on the utility ATV, but faster and a few more upgrades. honda would be on top. can beat the reliability and functionality of honda but people want things that honda dont offer. one thing i like about honda is they test there new products for a year before putting them out on the floor. cant wait my mortgage will be paid off in 2012
