Thanks for the welcome! I'm not sure how much help I gave you, I looked up that law ( 1849 ) and came up with 500 reply's to it. Even narrowing it down to atv riding law 1849, and still came up with 500 replys. And I'm sorry I didn't have that much time to read all 500 for you. I do know for a fact, as you heard from others the county Assessors office will have detailed info on who owns the property and its public info, so that's free. I used to work for them so that I do know. You can probably call the power company to confirm platts also. Was the fine expensive, it's probably all behind you now anyway. And I'm not sure Oatman has any bathtubs for their roaming donkeys !! Arizona's nice used to live in Phx. But too hot, However my husbands' dad has been wanting us to come down and ride in the superstition mtns. ever ride there?
good luck !

Why do people even bother saying this? Only a complete idiot would take 15-20 on an attempted murder charge to stop someone from riding through their land. Like I've said before, someone could ride their atv while drunk and wearing a Nazi uniform through your blatantly marked fence, then completely roost your manicured lawn after 5 inches of rain, then run over your dog, then side swipe your brand new truck, then piss on your wife; AND IT IS STILL NOT LEGAL TO SHOOT THEM! Our society places the highest value on human life. In the grand scheme, the courts don't give a **** about your private property.

Don't know the trespass laws in your state but the fact that no signs were posted or that you could not see them is no excuse in Michigan. You can still be held liable for trespass as its the persons responsibility to know who's property they are on and to seek permission for entry. All the property owner has to do is fill a complaint against you and the court will find for him every time and can even hold the trespassers liable for damages.

Note - ATv'rs and hunters have the most problems as many people don't want them on their property for any reason.
