for the record

my Foreman 500, is EXTREMELY capable. I am impressed thoroughly. the tires, Maxxis M978 24x10x12 in the back and 24x8x12 in the front are totally impressive. i felt at first they didn't grip in soft stuff, and they kind of don't, but on the rocks and hardpack they just push... i was following a polaris with mud tires and it just spun in 2wd and he had to stop, and shift into 4x4. i went right up it, WITH a passenger, in 2wd. all in all, this ATV is quite literally an ALL terrain bike.

A recently acquired well used but runs great 2007 Honda TRX500FE foreman. Camo color, Warn Winch on the front.

i believe i need to correct myself, Maxxis M975****

but i'm certain they are 24's and not the stock 25's.... looking at a set of identicle tires in 25's on local craigslist just about brand new for 125.... for a set.

True dat. My dad took mine up to the mountains, guy he met had a brand new Polaris 500, straight from the dealer. He said the heap wouldn't crank, wouldn't idle, and it shut off on him just idling down the trail. Wheras the 7 year old Honda ran like a top

Id go to a 26" tire if your going through the trouble of replacing them. Having a passenger actually helped you on your climb (traction wise) as the extra weight helped alot. That being said, the foreman is a great bike for climbing because it can crawl well with its low first gear, and i like he low centre of gravity on uneven terrain, makes the bike much more stable and predictable.
