broken axle...

I broke an axle today in reverse trying to winch a fallen tree out of the way. I've never replaced a axle before so any recomendations on where to buy one from and what brand to buy would be appreciated. Before anyone say gorilla axles i've already looked at them and theyre way to expensive

its called thumb to power ratio. not this one, but everyone else who is talking about broken axles doesn't realize that the less thumb pressure, the less power applied

Less power??? Who would want that? Under certain circumstances, less thumb is obviously what everybodys gonna do but when your pulling something thats stuck or heavy, power and traction are your friends. Of course the weakest link is gonna give. Sometimes, its just not what you want it to be.

to a certain point. obviously you were over loading or it wouldn't have broke.
know your machine's limitations and use a different method to get the job done if the atv cant do it exactly the way you want it to. work smart, not hard.

i'm not saying your a bad rider or anything. i've never broke a axle, god knows i should've by now.

you could use a few snatch blocks and your winch and never break anything

I think it has more to do with lift and tires more than my riding style. The angles put on the axles isnt very nice. Remember my thread, we broke three axles on three different bikes with three different riders in three different places. All lifted with super aggresive tires and all have under 150 miles. Once the bike is lifted and you put those nasty angles on the joints, the axle loses all its stregnth.
